An Interesting Study

The following was sent to us by a listener. Did you hear about the study on the News (yes, mainstream media) on TV last week? It was talking about how scientific studies have found that dogs can detect cancer (study was done with breast cancer) with very high percentages of accuracy (e.g. like high 90's, 98%), and these results beat the traditional mammograms, and other methods currently used to detect breast cancer. Since it was done by an alternative scientific group, some people are poo-pooing the results in the "Mainstream Scientific" community. A footnote to this study, Joy actually had a call regarding the caller's dog shying away from the caller's mother. The caller wanted to know why the dog use to go closer to her and now he wasn't. The dog was smelling a different smell from the caller's mother. The caller thought her mother was well. Joy suggested that perhaps the mother should go to the doctors for a checkup. The result of this visit was a life threatening illness was found and was treated in a timely manner. Here is another case to show animals are very aware and are able to detect events such as a tsunami, fire, or illness.
